Safety Tips
Stay safe while connecting and communicating with new people.
Protect your personal information
Don't share your home address, workplace details, passwords, OTPs, banking details, or official documents with anyone you meet online. Use in-app chat until you're fully comfortable.
Keep NIC / Passport details private
Never share NIC/passport photos or numbers through chat or WhatsApp. Upload documents only through the app when required for verification.
Verify profiles before trusting
Take time to verify identity. Do a video call, cross-check details, and meet in a public place before making commitments. Be cautious with users who avoid showing their face or keep changing their story.
Be careful moving to WhatsApp too fast
Scammers often push you off the app quickly to avoid moderation and reporting. Stay in-app until you feel confident about the person.
Never send money or gifts
Don't send money, gift cards, or mobile reloads—no matter the reason. Report anyone who asks for financial help, "emergencies", travel costs, or gifts.
Watch for visa / job / investment scams
Be cautious of people promising migration or visa help, overseas jobs, investments, or business opportunities—especially if they ask for money or documents. Verify independently.
Meet in safe, public places
When meeting in person, choose a public venue (mall or café). Inform a trusted friend or family member, share your live location, and arrange your own transport.
Avoid pressure and rushed decisions
Be careful with users who pressure you to "decide quickly", request dowry or large gifts, or push for immediate marriage registration. Take your time and involve family if you prefer.
Verify family representatives too
Some profiles may be managed by parents or relatives. Before sharing sensitive details or making decisions, confirm the actual profile owner is aware, involved, and willing to speak on a voice or video call.
Keep communication respectful
Do not share explicit content. Report harassment, hate speech, threats, or repeated unwanted messages using the in-app Report option.
Take blackmail or photo threats seriously
If anyone threatens to leak your chats, photos, or videos, stop responding immediately. Block and report the user, preserve evidence, and seek help from trusted family or local authorities if needed.
Be mindful with photos and screenshots
Avoid sharing private photos outside the app. Be aware that screenshots can be misused. Use privacy controls where available and report any misuse immediately.
Never pay wedding or travel advances early
Do not send money for hall bookings, wedding plans, travel, visas, jewelry, or family emergencies before independently verifying the person, their family, and the situation. Genuine matches will understand caution.
Trust your instincts
If something feels off, end the conversation. You're never obligated to continue chatting or meeting. Block and report the profile if needed.
How to report concerns
Use the "Report Profile" or "Block User" options on a profile. Add details in the report so our team can review quickly and keep the community safe.
If you feel uncomfortable or unsafe, stop the conversation, block and report the user, and contact local authorities if needed.
